Nell’estate del 2016 sono stata negli Stati Uniti, insieme a Sr Carmel Theresa Favazzo, per far visita alle consorelle della Provincia Immacolata Concezione. Sono stata accolta con grande gioia ed affetto dalla Superiora Provinciale, Suor Ann Joachim Firneno e da tutte le Consorelle della Comunità di Harriman, Monroe NY.

Ho conosciuto tante sorelle che non avevo mai visto: che emozione e quanta gioia sprigionavano dai loro volti, quanta serenità e quanta accoglienza della sofferenza!

Sono stati giorni fantastici.

Quanta storia silenziosa percepivo nel camminare nell’estesa tenuta adiacente la Casa Madre, dove prima si eregevano Scuole e attività varie.

La comunità della Casa Provinciale ha un ritmo proprio, fatto di preghiera, di ascolto della parola, di momenti di adorazione e di condivisione. Sono rimasta ammirata da tutte le consorelle, ognuna con la propria storia e tanta  voglia di parlare.

Tra tutte voglio parlare di due sorelle che ultimamente ci hanno lasciato: SrAlbina Catalano il 22 novembre e Sr Andrea Marie Sporry morta il 30 novembre 2017.

Due consorelle silenzione, delicate, sorridenti, capaci di trasmettere la pace che gelosamente custodivano nel cuore. Due consorelle che invitavano a saper guardare lo Sposo Gesù e ad unirsi a Lui attraverso l’accettazione della malattia e della debolezza fisica.

Oggi che sono in Paradiso desidero ringraziarle per l’accoglienza riservatami e per la preghiera che mi hanno regalato, preghiera che, ne sono sicura, continua ancora oggi da lassù.

Grazie Sr Albina e grazie Sr Andrea Marie. Ci affidiamo a voi. Continuate ad essere quella luce che indica la strada a tutte noi che camminiamo ancora nel buio, e che un giorno saremo tutte in Paradiso per cantare in eterno la gioia di appartenere a Gesù.

TWO OF OUR SISTERS IN HEAVEN

In the summer of 2016 I was in the United States, together with Sr Carmel Theresa Favazzo, to visit our sisters in Immaculate conception Province. I was welcomed with great joy and affection by the  Provincial Superior, Sr. Ann Joachim Firneno, and by all the sisters of the Community of Monroe, NY.

I met so many sisters that I had never seen: what emotion and what joy shone on their faces, what serenity

and what acceptance of their suffering!!

They were fantastic days.

How many silent stories I perceived  in walking in the area ajacent to the Motherhouse, where in the past they directed schools and a variety of activities.

The community of the Provincialate has its own rhythm, built of prayer, listening to the Word, moments of  adoration and of sharing. I remained in admiration of all the sisters, each one with her own story and a great desire to speak. 

Of all of them I want to speak of two sisters who recently have left us: SrAlbina Catalano on November 22 and Sr Andrea Marie Sporry who died on November 30, 2017.

Two sisters who were quiet, delicate, smiling, able to transmit the peace which they carefully guarded in their hearts. Two sisters who invited us to know how to look at Jesus their Spouse and to unite themselves to him through the acceptance of  sickness and physical weakness..

Today that they are in heaven I desire to thank them for the welcome they gave me and for the prayer they gave me as gift, a prayer that I am certain continues even today from above.

Thank you, Sr Albina and thank you, Sr Andrea Marie. We entrust ourselves to you. Continue to be that light that indicates the path to all of us who are still travelling in the dark, and who one day will all be in Paradise to sing for eternity the joy of belonging to Jesus.
